During this camp, students will create art that encourages us to look at nature through a different lens. By exploring paint, oil pastels, and natural materials, we invite campers to create art inspired by the great outdoors! This camp runs from June 16-20, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm.
Nature Medium Madness is taught by local arts educator, Eric Staib. Eric is a local Lansing artist whose work explores the process of recycling, reusing and breathing life and creativity back into materials that would otherwise have been discarded. Cardboard, canvas, paint cans, and even the paint itself has all been given a new purpose in Staib’s work. He is also an art teacher at Okemos Public Schools, where he works with elementary students to view the world more creatively. Along with teaching he is an artist, musician, father, and husband. He has been awarded the Commitment to Excellence Educator Award and serves as a keynote speaker for the Michigan Dyslexic Institute summer camp, as well as many other organizations.
Full and Partial Scholarship options are available for all REACH camps! Please check out the Scholarship and Enrollment page under the Summer Camp tab to learn more about our scholarship opportunities as well as our refund policy.
