Scholarship Policy
REACH Studio Art Center is committed to removing barriers to make our programs financially accessible for youth in our community. To help with this, we developed a scholarship structure to match a student’s tuition rate to their household income.
Session Fees
CLICK HERE to view REACH’s 2025 household income chart to guide you in choosing the payment rate that fits your family. When registering, you can select full scholarship, partial scholarship, or full tuition for any class that your student (ages 2-18) is attending. We do not ask for financial documentation to prove income, and your child will receive the same great arts programming regardless of which fee your family pays.
Flexible Price:
Each student is eligible for up to two classes or camp session scholarships per term. At this time, scholarship spaces are limited and are available on a first-come first-serve basis. Scholarship amounts will be reflected at checkout if you complete the scholarship section of the registration form and if the remaining scholarships are still available.
Attendance Policy
If a student is absent for more than 50% of a program’s classes, the family will be ineligible for scholarships during the next term (but will remain eligible after that). REACH staff will do their best to accommodate unavoidable cancellations due to illness or major emergencies.
Our Shared Commitment
We are committed to making our programs financially accessible to youth in the Greater Lansing area. This is only possible through the generous support of individual and organizational donors as well as grant funds.

All classes require registration and payment if a fee is charged, before attending.
Early registration and payment are appreciated. Please help us allow our teachers time to prepare the proper quantity of class materials by registering early for classes.
Online registration for classes ends 1 day before class begins. If a class does not appear on the online registration portal, there may still be space to enroll. Please call or email to inquire.
Payments and registrations are due by the first day of class. If you are not able to pay before the first meeting of your class, please contact our Program Coordinator to discuss accommodations (info@reachstudioart.org or 517-999-3643)
REACH reserves the right to cancel activities due to insufficient registration.

Refunds and Credits:
Refunds may be requested up to 2 weeks before the start of class or camp. Credit card refunds will incur a 10% processing fee. Refunds in the form of credit to be used in a future class will incur no fees.
Class fees will not be prorated, and missed classes cannot be made up. We will do our best to accommodate unavoidable cancellations due to illness or major emergencies.
Refunds requested within two weeks of the first day of class will be given in the form of credit for future classes.
No refunds will be given within 6 days of the start of the class except for in emergencies.
Cancelled Classes:
If REACH cancels a class session due to weather or other circumstances, a make-up day will be scheduled if possible.
A full refund will be issued if REACH cancels a class due to insufficient enrollment.
-
Illness:
All students, staff, and visitors should refrain from attending class if they have contracted a transmissible disease or are experiencing symptoms of such (fever, more than normal coughing, sneezing, runny nose, etc).
Arrival:
If you arrive early (more than 5 minutes before class starts) we ask that you stay with your child until class starts to allow teachers to finish setting up a class
If you are running late or know if you or your child will miss a class session, please contact us at (517) 999-3643 or info@reachstudioart.org. This helps our staff to be prepared and plan accordingly.
Missed Classes:
Missed class sessions cannot be made up, or fees discounted. Dismissal from class sessions due to misconduct or failure to follow our policies is not refundable or discounted.
Photography:
Enrolling in REACH programs acknowledges implied consent to photograph students and student artwork without compensation and for REACH purposes. Photographs are used for documentation and promotion of REACH programs through print and social media. Please inform REACH staff if you would prefer that you or your child not be photographed.

As we have seen an increased need for supporting students with varied abilities (i.e., mild physical limitations, emotional/behavioral challenges, cognitive impairments, etc.), communication with parents is essential. When you register your child, please include a note to help us learn more about your student ahead of their class. If you feel additional support may be needed, please contact REACH’s Program Coordinator Sofia Gentil at sofia@reachstudioart.com to help us understand what may be needed for a successful class experience.
We acknowledge that there are some accommodations for individual students that REACH Studio Art Center is not equipped to provide at this time. By accepting the terms of service when you register, you understand that REACH reserves the right to determine if a student should not enroll in a class or program if accommodation cannot be adequately provided.
-
Your completed registration in a REACH class or program is your agreement to abide by the above policies.
We always welcome your honest feedback regarding your or your child’s experience at REACH. Your feedback helps us plan for future classes and activities.
