Week 3 - PM Camp: Spooky Creatures and Scary Cyborgs (Ages 6-9)

  • REACH Studio Art Center - Main Studio 1804 South Washington Avenue Lansing, MI, 48910 United States (map)

Get ready for an adventure where imagination can soar! In this camp, you'll design and build your very own 3D robot using upcycled materials. Each day, you'll embark on projects that bring spooky creatures to life—think aliens, beasts, and monsters, AND MORE! Whether you're crafting robotic beasts or bringing your wildest Alien ideas to life, you'll dive into a world where creativity drives you. This camp runs from June 23 - 27, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm.

Spooky Creatures and Scary Cyborgs is taught by local arts educator, Eric Staib. Eric is a local Lansing artist whose work explores the process of recycling, reusing and breathing life and creativity back into materials that would otherwise have been discarded. Cardboard, canvas, paint cans, and even the paint itself has all been given a new purpose in Staib’s work. He is also an art teacher at Okemos Public Schools, where he works with elementary students to view the world more creatively. Along with teaching he is an artist, musician, father, and husband. He has been awarded the Commitment to Excellence Educator Award and serves as a keynote speaker for the Michigan Dyslexic Institute summer camp, as well as many other organizations.

Full and Partial Scholarship options are available for all REACH camps! Please check out the Scholarship and Enrollment page under the Summer Camp tab to learn more about our scholarship opportunities as well as our refund policy.
