Custom Art Activities

Birthday Parties, Scout troops,
Group Homes,
Home-schoolers, Private Lessons, etc.

Reach Studio Art Center will provide:
• an artist professional to teach a 1, 1.5 or 2 hour session with a chosen art media: (clay, painting, drawing, tie dyeing, hand made books, block/screen printing, etc.)
• the necessary art supplies and equipment for students to do the chosen project.
• Classroom area (barrier free) at Reach Studio (with barrier free bathroom facilities). The group may stay at Reach up to an hour in addition to the project activity if project is part of a birthday party.

You will provide:
• the participants – (according to minimum and maximum numbers agreed upon ahead of time. Reach comfortably fits up to 16 people)
• transportation for students to and from Reach Studio Art Center.
• fee per participant or group (see sample plans below.) Reach takes cash or check. Sorry no credit cards accepted.
And if the activity is a party:
• Adults to help supervise and to lead the “party” portion of the activity.
• Refreshments (birthday cake, pizza, etc.) if that is part of your party plan. There is a small refrigerator and also an oven at Reach available for your use.
• Clean up of any party decorations or food brought in for activity.

SOME ART ACTIVITY EXAMPLES (we are not limited to these ideas):

Ceramic Clay Pinch Pots, Tiles or Vases:
$95 – 1.5 hour activity (note that ceramic clay items will not be ready to take home at the end of the session and arrangements need to be made for pick-up.)
• Includes up to 6 participants.
• $10 for each additional participant (maximum = 15)
• Each participant will make 1 or 2 items using up to 1 lb of clay, which will be bisque fired at Reach.
• Glazing of items is not included (a separate session at the same rate can be scheduled for glazing, or participants may come to a regular Open Clay Studio at Reach to glaze their piece(s) for an additional fee per participant of $3 - paid with the group fee.

Polymer Clay (i.e. Fimo, Sculpey) Beads and Bugs:
$75 – 1 hour activity
• Includes up to 6 participants.
• $5 for each additional participant (maximum = 15)
• Each participant will create beads and/or imaginative beetles to make into pins or magnets.

Painting, Drawing or collage media projects:
$75 – 1 hour activity
• Includes up to 6 participants.
• $5 for each additional participant (maximum = 15)
• Each participant will create 1 or 2 fun and age appropriate items using the chosen medium.

Hand Made Book
$100 – 2 hour activity
Includes up to 6 participants (Age 10 and older recommended).
• $10 for each additional participant (maximum = 15)
• Each participant will make a book using papers they decorate with painting techniques during session then learn a beautiful book hand binding technique.
$75 – 1 hour activity
Same as above, but participants will make books with provided papers

Printing projects (block prints, monoprints or silk screening on cloth, or cards):
$95 – 1.5 hour activity or $75 – 1 hour activity
• Includes up to 6 participants
• $10 for each additional participant (maximum = 15)
• Each participant will create 1 or 2 fun and age appropriate items using the chosen medium.

Tie-dye silk or cotton scarves or cotton T-shirts
$120 – 2 hour activity (party can happen in the middle)
• Includes up to 6 participants (age 8 and older recommended).
• $10 for each additional participant (maximum = 15)
• Each participant will create 1 scarf or 1 T-shirt (project decided ahead of time)
